Parc National Serengeti

Au matin, nous nous sommes précipités au déjeuner.  La nuit dernière était un désatre.  Je m'était réveillé avec mes parent à 2:00 du matin parce qu'ont n'étaient pas habitués au décalage horaire. Après le bon déjeuner, ont est allés voir la belle vue du cratère à travers la brume du matin.

In the morning, we hurried to breakfast.  Last night was terrible.  I woke up with my parents at 2:00 in the morning because we were not used to the time change.  After a good breakfast, we went to see the beautiful view of the crater through the morning mist.

Ensuite, on est reparti pour une autre journée de safari.  Mais cette fois ci, vers le parc National Serengeti.  C'est un des 16 parc nationaux de la Tanzanie et le plus visité.  Nous avons d'abord traversé le parc Ngorongoro pour se rendre au Serengeti.  Peu après notre départ, on a rencontré nos premières girafes!  Tellement grandes et calmes, elles mangeaient un type d'arbre acacia qui étaient rempli d'épines.  Aparement c'est leur nourriture prérérée.

Then we moved on to another day of safari.  But this time, to the Serengeti National Park.  It is one of the 16 national parks in Tanzania and the most visited.  We first crossed the Ngorongoro park to get to the Serengeti.  Shortly after we left, we met our first giraffes!  So large, tall and quiet, they ate a type of acacia tree that was full of thorns.  Apparently it is their favorite food.

La route était très longue, le paysage était plat et désert, il ventait énormément et il y avait beaucoup de poussière.  On  a pas seulement vu notre première giraffe mais aussi plusieurs villages de Maasai. Des hommes et enfants Maasai marchaient le long de la route et dans les plaines avec leur troupeaux d’animaux.  On est enfin arrivé à l’entrée du parc Serengeti.  On est sorti du jeep un peu pour se dégourdir les jambes et on a donné de l’eau et un peu d’argent à 2 enfants Maasai.  Les enfants ont commencés à sauter sur place.  Je pense que c’est leur façon de dire merci! 

Le parc Serengeti est composé de 3 types d’environnements: la savane, le boisé et le désert semi-aride.  Nous avons passé le reste de la journée dans la savane.  La route était remplie de bosses et de gros trous.  C’était beaucoup d’action mais quand même pas si pire car Boniface est très bon conducteur.  Et la recherche aux animaux recommence!  William avec sa caméra, ma mère et moi avec nos longue vues.  Voici quelques photos de la journée:

The road was long, the landscape was flat and deserted, it blew a lot and there was a lot of dust.  Not only did we see our first giraffe but also several Maasai villages.  Maasai men and children were walking along the road and in the plains with their herds of animals. We finally arrived at the entrance of the Serengeti Park.  We came out of the jeep just to stretch our legs and we gave water and a little money to two Maasai children. The kids started jumping.  I think this is their way of saying thank you!  The Serengeti park consists of three types of environments: savannah, woodland and the semi-arid desert.  We spent the rest of the day in the savannah.  The road was filled with bumps and big holes.  It was a lot of action but still not that bad because Boniface is a very good driver.  And the search for animals begins again! William with his camera and my mother and I with our binoculars.

À un moment donné, on a vu un lion et une lionne s’accoupler tout près de notre Jeep…  Nous étions tous sans commentaires!

À la fin de la journée, en se dirigeant vers où on passera les 3 prochaines nuits, on a vue un léopard qui dormait sur une branche dans un arbre.  Certains animaux sont très difficiles à trouver.  Par exemple, les léopards qui sont souvent cachés dans un arbre.

At the end of the day, going towards where we will spend the next three nights, we saw a leopard sleeping on a branch in a tree.  Some animals are very difficult to find.  For example, leopards are often hidden in a tree.

Il faisait déjà noir quand nous sommes arrivé aux campement Kati-Kati dans le boisé du Serengeti. Nous nous sommes installé dans notre nouvelle chambre: une tente!  Pour prendre une douche il fallait demander au staff pour de l’eau.  Le staff apportait une chaudière d’eau chaude et la hissait jusqu’au réservoir en haut de notre tente.  Il fallait prendre des douches rapides car on avait seulement 20 litres d’eau par douche.  Le matin quand il fait froid, c’est pas facile.  On a souper dans une tente commune et la bouffe était super bonne.  C’était la nuit.  On s’est endormi en entendant les bruits des animaux sauvages.  Bonne nuit!

It was already dark when we arrived at the Kati Kati camp in the woodland of the Serengeti. We got installed in our new room.  It was a tent!  To shower you had to ask the staff for water. The staff brought a bucket of hot water and hoists it up to the reservoir at the top of our tent.  We had to take quick showers as we only had 20 liters of water per shower.  In the morning when it is cold, it is not easy.  We ate dinner in a communal tent and the food was really good.  It was night. We fell asleep while we were listening to the sounds of wildlife.  Good night!
